The County

Policing in Staffordshire is structured around four operational divisions: Chase, North Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Trent Valley. Each has its own command team, headed by a divisional commander of Chief Superintendent rank.

Within each division are Neighbourhoodl Policing Units (NPUs). It is in these smaller areas, headed by an inspector, that policing is delivered. This neighbourhood based style gives officers ownership of local neighbourhood and issues, fostering and encouraging strong ties with the community.
The Division

Trent Valley Division Trent Valley Division is responsible for policing areas covered by East Staffordshire Borough Council, Lichfield District Council and Tamworth Borough Council.

It is sub-divided into five neighbourhood policing units (NPUs), each managed by an NPU commander of Inspector rank. Each NPU commander manages a team of officers who take ownership of, and responsibility and accountability for, solving local problems in partnership with other agencies and the public.
